Middle-Eastern language skills needed for human rights defence in London


The International Secretariat of Amnesty International, based in London, is looking for three volunteers with proficiency in Middle-Eastern languages for three of its teams. The volunteer positions are part-time so it’s a good opportunity for students.

What: Volunteer – Iran Team.
Who: legal background is essential as well as fluent level of written and spoken Persian and good level of reading and writing in English.
When: 3 days per weeks for at least 3 months.
Where: Amnesty International, International Secretariat (London, UK).
Deadline: 13 September 2011.
Pay: travel and lunch expenses are provided.

What: Volunteer – Iraq and Bahrain Team.
Who: fluent level of written and spoken English and fluent or good level of reading and writing Arabic are required.
When: 2 days per weeks for at least 3 months.
Where: Amnesty International, International Secretariat (London, UK).
Deadline: 13 September 2011.
Pay: travel and lunch expenses are provided.

What: Volunteer – Turkey Team.
Who: fluent spoken and written Turkish, fluent written and spoken English and knowledge of human rights situation in Turkey are required.
When: 3 days per weeks for at least 3 months.
Where: Amnesty International, International Secretariat (London, UK).
Deadline: 13 September 2011.
Pay: travel and lunch expenses are provided.
