East, East and further East: three internship opportunities in the UK, Lebanon, Afghanistan.

Offer by: ILO Regional office for Arab States.
Position: Internship on HIV/AIDS.
Profile: degree in Law or development studies or policy development focused on Middle east or similar, experience HIV/AIDS or health related issues will be an asset.
Languages: proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
Where: Beirut, Lebanon.
When: 3 months with possible 3 months extension. Starting on the 1st October or earlier.
Deadline: 12th September 2011.
Pay: not specified.

Position: Communications Intern – Eurasia Program.
Profile: degree level education either in a field relevant to peace-building or communications.
Languages: fluency in English and excellent Russian (written and spoken).
Where: London, UK.
When: 6 months. 35 hours per week.
Deadline: 9th September 2011 at 5 p.m. (UK time).
Pay: £13,334 pro rata (approximately £900 each month after tax).

And for the adventurous ones…


Position: Communications Intern (A to Z Guide 2012).
Profile: Relevant academic qualifications (minimum of BS/BA required), knowledge and understanding of the current situation in Afghanistan, prior Afghanistan experience desirable.
Languages: Excellent English writing and editing skills. Knowledge of Afghan languages preferable.
Where: Kabul, Afghanistan.
When: 4 months, ideally starting mid-October 2011.
Deadline: 14th September 2011.
Pay: paid internship. All accommodation, travel, visa and insurance costs will be covered by AREU, food and incidentals are the responsibility of the intern.
