Requirements: graduate students focused on the Middle East and/or governance and democratization and interested in gaining practical experience in informing policymakers. Applicants who recently completed a bachelor’s degree are also welcome to apply. Deeply-motivated individuals with a strong working knowledge of the policy debates surrounding U.S. impact on political reform in Egypt and the Middle East more broadly.
Languages: Strong research skills and proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic are required.

When: from January through the end of May on at least a part-time basis (20 hours per week).

Requirements: currently enrolled in a relevant Graduate or Undergraduate Degree program who are highly motivated and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively and analyze and summarize complex information, and a desire to function in a team environment. They also must be able to multi-task while remaining attentive to detail. Background and interest in investigative journalism, international or national security law or relevant field.
Languages: Language aptitude in Dari, Pashto, Urdu or Arabic is helpful, but not required.

When: November 2011 – May 2012, 15-19 hours per week.
